Ingredients
4 bone-in chicken thighs or drumsticks
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup barbecue sauce (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven or grill to 400°F.
2. Mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, olive oil, and salt and pepper in a bowl.
3. Rub mixture directly into chicken and let sit for 30 minutes if possible.
4. Place chicken skin-side up on a foil-lined sheet pan or over indirect heat on the grill.
5. Bake or grill for 25 minutes.
6. Brush barbecue sauce evenly over each piece.
7. Cook for an additional 10–15 minutes until internal temp reaches 165°F and sauce is caramelized.
Notes
You can swap in boneless chicken or wings—just adjust cooking time.
Make your own BBQ sauce with ketchup, vinegar, honey, molasses, Soy sauce, and optional cayenne.
