This bold, savory-sweet Caramelized Onion Dip blends the deep flavor of golden onions with tangy sour cream and cream cheese. A perfect party dip that pairs with chips, veggies, or toasted bread.
Ingredients
2 large sweet yellow onions (thinly sliced)
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup sour cream
4 oz cream cheese (softened)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Heat butter and olive oil in a non-stick skillet.
2. Add onions and a pinch of salt. Cook over medium-low, stirring occasionally.
3. After 25–30 minutes, when onions are golden and jammy, add garlic and cook 2 more minutes.
4. Let mixture cool slightly.
5. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
6. Add sour cream, Worcestershire, and cooled onion mixture.
7. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper.
8. Chill in fridge at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Sub Greek yogurt for sour cream for a tangier version.
