Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup dark chocolate chips
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs (or 1/2 cup applesauce for egg-free)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or line an 8×8 baking dish.
Melt butter and chocolate together in a heatproof bowl.
Whisk in both sugars until dissolved. Let mix cool slightly.
Add eggs or egg alternative and mix well.
Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Fold until just combined.
Pour batter into pan; smooth top.
Bake for 30–35 minutes until set and toothpick shows moist crumbs.
Let cool fully before slicing.

Substitute coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
Cool completely before slicing for clean edges.
