A quick and flavorful burger recipe you can make without a grill—perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken/black beans)
1 egg
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
4 burger buns
4 slices cheese (optional)
2 tbsp olive oil
Toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, sauces
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, and seasoning.
Form into 4 evenly sized patties, about 3/4-inch thick.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add patties; cook for 4-5 minutes per side, flipping once, until internal temp reaches 160°F.
Add cheese slices in the final minute and cover to melt.
Toast buns in remaining skillet oil for 1-2 minutes.
Assemble burgers with desired toppings and serve hot.
Notes
For extra moisture, add 1 tbsp mayo into the mixture.
Use a non-stick skillet or cast iron for best browning.
Freeze shaped patties between parchment rounds for meal prep.
