GARLIC SHRIMP

Garlic Shrimp Recipe: A Southern Chef’s Twist on a Classic

  • Author: Ray
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

Garlic shrimp is a quick, flavor-packed dish inspired by Southern roots and a bold New Orleans twist. With garlic, lemon, and buttery shrimp, it’s the perfect weeknight indulgence or entertaining showstopper.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound large shrimp, peeled & deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt & cracked black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Red pepper flakes

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add garlic; sauté 30 seconds or until fragrant—watch carefully to avoid burning.

3. Toss in shrimp. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, flipping once.

4. Add lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.

5. Remove from heat, sprinkle with parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the pan—work in batches if necessary to keep shrimp crisp.

Pairs well with rice, garlic bread, lemon pasta, or roasted vegetables.

Leftovers are great in salads, tacos, or tossed into noodles.

To reduce fat, try air frying with a light oil spray.
