Ingredients
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
2 tbsp harissa paste (store-bought or homemade)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt to taste
(Optional) 1 tbsp plain yogurt
(Optional) 1 tsp honey
Fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley
Instructions
1. Pat the chicken dry and season with salt.
2. In a bowl, mix harissa paste, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, and coriander to form a marinade.
3. Rub the marinade thoroughly over the chicken and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (overnight preferred).
4. Preheat oven to 400°F or heat grill.
5. Place chicken on parchment-lined baking sheet or grill. Cook for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway.
6. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
7. (Optional) Drizzle with extra harissa before serving.
Notes
Use thighs for juicier results or breasts for a leaner option.
Pairs beautifully with couscous, salads, or grain bowls.
Great in tacos or wraps with pickled onions and avocado.
Leftovers store well and reheat nicely in oven or air fryer.
Add yogurt to the marinade for a creamy twist or honey for balance.
