Description
Sticky, crispy golden chicken tossed in a rich honey glaze—this comfort food classic blends Southern charm with Chinese-American roots. Perfect for family dinners or creative leftovers.
Ingredients
1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breasts
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
2 eggs, beaten
¾ cup honey
1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
2 tbsp rice vinegar
Optional: chili flakes, sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Cut your chicken into bite-size chunks and pat dry.
2. Dredge each piece: flour, egg, then cornstarch. Press lightly so the crust sticks.
3. Heat oil in a skillet or wok to medium-high. Fry chicken in small batches for 6–8 mins till golden.
4. In a separate pan, bring honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and ginger to a bubble. Stir constantly.
5. Toss cooked chicken in sauce until each piece glistens. Let soak for 2–3 minutes.
6. Garnish with sesame seeds or red pepper flakes if you like heat.
7. Serve with rice, steamed broccoli, or other sides.
Notes
Marinate chicken overnight with soy sauce and garlic for deeper flavor.
For a healthier twist, air fry at 400°F for 12–14 mins or bake at 425°F for 25–30 mins.
Use leftovers in wraps, sliders, or salads for next-day meals.
