  • Author: Ray
  • Total Time: 8 minutes
  • Yield: 1 cup 1x

Description

A bold, spicy, and tangy shrimp cocktail sauce with a Southern twist—perfect for chilled shrimp, seafood platters, or even as a zesty sandwich spread.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup ketchup (organic preferred)

2 tbsp prepared horseradish

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

12 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp hot sauce

1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

A pinch of smoked paprika

Salt and cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine ketchup and horseradish. Mix until smooth.

2. Stir in lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce.

3. Sprinkle in garlic powder and smoked paprika.

4. Season to taste with salt and cracked black pepper.

5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.

6. Stir before serving and serve chilled with shrimp.

Notes

Substitute lime juice for lemon or use fresh grated horseradish for more bite.

Great with fish tacos, salmon, or even as a dip for vegetables.

Store in the fridge in a glass container for up to a week.

Try global flavor spins: wasabi & soy, dill pickles & mustard, or jalapeños & cilantro.
