Description
Crispy outside, tender inside—this air fryer tofu is oil-free, fast, and flavor-packed, perfect for weeknight dinners or plant-based meal prep.
Ingredients
1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed
1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
Pinch of black pepper or red chili flakes
Instructions
1. Press tofu using towels and weight for 15–20 minutes.
2. Cube into 1-inch pieces.
3. Mix soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and oil in a bowl.
4. Toss tofu cubes in the mix until coated.
5. Sprinkle with cornstarch and stir gently.
6. Preheat air fryer to 390°F.
7. Place tofu in a single layer in the basket.
8. Air fry 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway.
9. Serve hot or store for later.
Notes
For oil-free version, skip sesame oil and cornstarch.
Freezing then thawing tofu enhances texture.
Pairs great with wraps, salads, or bowls.
Reheats best in the air fryer, not microwave.
Store in fridge up to 4 days or freeze for longer.
