Whole Wheat Veggie Pizza

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A healthy alternative to traditional pizza made with whole wheat flour, vibrant vegetables, and part-skim cheese. Crisp, colorful, and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale

1 ½ cups whole wheat flour

1 tsp active dry yeast

½ tsp sea salt

¾ cup warm water

2 tbsp olive oil

⅓ cup tomato puree

1 cup part-skim shredded mozzarella

½ red bell pepper, sliced

½ zucchini, thinly sliced

1 small red onion, slivered

½ cup cooked chickpeas or grilled chicken

1 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

Stir yeast into warm water and let sit for 5 minutes.

Add flour, salt, and oil. Knead into a dough and let rest 10 minutes.

Preheat oven to 475°F and prep your baking surface.

Roll out dough and place on parchment-lined baking sheet or stone.

Spread sauce evenly, then layer cheese, veggies, and protein.

Sprinkle oregano on top and bake for 12–15 mins until bubbly.

Cool 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Sub dairy-free cheese for a vegan version.

Try adding arugula after baking for a peppery finish.
