Description
A healthy alternative to traditional pizza made with whole wheat flour, vibrant vegetables, and part-skim cheese. Crisp, colorful, and satisfying.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp active dry yeast
½ tsp sea salt
¾ cup warm water
2 tbsp olive oil
⅓ cup tomato puree
1 cup part-skim shredded mozzarella
½ red bell pepper, sliced
½ zucchini, thinly sliced
1 small red onion, slivered
½ cup cooked chickpeas or grilled chicken
1 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
Stir yeast into warm water and let sit for 5 minutes.
Add flour, salt, and oil. Knead into a dough and let rest 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 475°F and prep your baking surface.
Roll out dough and place on parchment-lined baking sheet or stone.
Spread sauce evenly, then layer cheese, veggies, and protein.
Sprinkle oregano on top and bake for 12–15 mins until bubbly.
Cool 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Sub dairy-free cheese for a vegan version.
Try adding arugula after baking for a peppery finish.
