Description
Rich, caramelized Miso Glazed Salmon with umami-packed flavor, sweetness, and a restaurant-worthy golden top—ready in under 40 minutes.
Ingredients
4 salmon fillets (4–6 oz each), skin-on or skinless
2 tbsp white miso paste
1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari (low-sodium preferred)
1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1–2 cloves garlic, grated or minced
Optional: 1 tsp rice vinegar
Optional: 1/2 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, whisk together miso paste, maple syrup (or honey), soy sauce, and garlic. Add sesame oil if desired.
2. Pat salmon fillets dry and brush the glaze generously on top.
3. Let marinate in the fridge for 15–30 minutes.
4. Preheat broiler to high. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place salmon on it.
5. Broil for 4–5 minutes until glaze bubbles and caramelizes.
6. (Optional) Brush with another layer of glaze and broil for 1–2 more minutes.
7. Serve with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a salmon grain bowl.
Notes
Use white miso (shiro miso) for a mild, sweet flavor.
Don’t over-marinate—30 minutes is ideal for great texture.
Broiling gives the best caramelization compared to baking.
For extra flavor, try mix-ins like sriracha, yuzu, or chili crisp.
Store leftovers in airtight glass containers for easy lunches.
