PARMESAN CRISPS

Parmesan Crisps: A Crunchy, Cheesy Treat You’ll Want Again and Again

  • Author: Ray
  • Total Time: Under 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 crisps

Description

Parmesan crisps are golden, cheesy snacks that are easy to make, low-carb, and packed with flavor. Perfect as a quick treat or meal topper, they’re crunchy bites of nostalgic comfort with only a handful of ingredients.

Ingredients

Freshly grated Parmesan (preferably Parmigiano-Reggiano)

Optional: Black pepper or red chili flakes

Optional: Italian herbs (basil, thyme, oregano)

Parchment paper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Grate Parmesan finely and place tablespoon-sized heaps onto the parchment, spaced an inch apart.

3. Flatten each pile slightly with a spoon.

4. Sprinkle herbs or spices if desired.

5. Bake for 6–8 minutes until golden and crispy at the edges.

6. Let cool completely on the pan before moving.

7. Store in airtight container or serve immediately.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano for best results—avoid pre-grated cheese.

For flavor, try adding rosemary or a drizzle of infused oil after baking.

Great as salad toppers, low-carb croutons, or paired with pasta.

Humidity affects crispiness—store promptly in airtight containers.

Can be frozen and re-crisped in the oven.
