Description
A creamy, herby salmon pasta dish that combines bold flavors, easy prep, and flexible ingredients for an elevated weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
8 ounces of pasta (penne, linguine, or fusilli)
2 salmon fillets (skin-on preferred)
3 garlic cloves, minced
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
½ cup heavy cream or coconut cream
Fresh dill or parsley, chopped
Salt and black pepper to taste
Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
1. Bring water to a boil, salt it generously, then cook pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
2. Season salmon with salt, pepper, and lemon zest. Pan-sear skin-side down for 4–5 minutes, flip and cook another 2 minutes. Remove and flake.
3. In the same pan, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes over medium heat. Add lemon juice and cream, stir to combine. Use pasta water to thin sauce if needed.
4. Add flaked salmon and pasta to the sauce. Mix to coat evenly.
5. Finish with chopped herbs. Adjust seasoning and serve hot with optional zest or cheese.
Notes
Customize by using Greek yogurt instead of cream or adding capers for an extra punch.
Try whole wheat or gluten-free pasta for a healthier twist.
Smoked salmon or canned salmon work well in a pinch.
Great with arugula salad or grilled veggies on the side.
