Ingredients
2 lbs chicken breasts or thighs
2 cups chicken broth
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Place chicken in a heavy pot or Dutch oven and cover with broth.
2. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15–18 minutes or until internal temp is 165°F.
4. Remove chicken and let rest for 5 minutes.
5. Shred using forks, mixer, or fingers.
6. Return shredded chicken to broth to keep moist until serving.
Notes
Store shredded chicken with some broth to keep it juicy.
Freezes well for up to 3 months.
