Description
There’s something magical about the scent of turkey cooking—especially when it’s fall-apart tender from the slow cooker. This soul-warming recipe brings flavor, ease, and comfort to your kitchen any day of the week.
Ingredients
3–4 lb boneless turkey breast (with or without skin)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
1 cup low-sodium chicken broth (or turkey broth)
1 onion, sliced
3 garlic cloves, crushed
2 celery stalks, roughly chopped
Optional: 1 tablespoon soy sauce or coconut aminos
Instructions
1. Pat turkey dry with paper towels and rub with olive oil.
2. Mix dry herbs and spices in a bowl, then coat turkey evenly.
3. Layer onion, garlic, and celery at the bottom of your slow cooker.
4. Pour in broth and optional soy sauce, then place turkey on top.
5. Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3.5–4 hours.
6. Remove turkey and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
7. (Optional) Broil turkey for 4 minutes for extra browning.
Notes
Use bone-in turkey breast if preferred—just increase cooking time by 1.5 hours.
Try dry brining up to 24 hours in advance for deeper flavor.
Slather with compound butter before cooking for extra richness.
Store leftovers with some broth to keep them juicy.
Perfect for sandwiches, tacos, and casseroles later.
