Ingredients
4 tilapia fillets (about 1.5 lbs)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
Tortillas (corn or flour)
2 cups shredded red cabbage
Juice of 1 lime + wedges for garnish
1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp chili powder
Optional: avocado, cilantro, diced tomatoes, pickled onions
Instructions
Pat tilapia dry, rub with olive oil, then coat both sides with paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Heat non-stick or cast-iron skillet and cook fillets 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
Mix shredded cabbage with lime juice and salt. Let it sit to soften slightly.
Combine mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic powder, and chili powder to make crema.
Warm tortillas in a dry skillet for 10 seconds each side.
Assemble tacos with tilapia chunks, cabbage slaw, dollops of crema, and your favorite toppings.
Notes
You can bake the tilapia at 400°F for 12 minutes for a healthier option.
Swap mayonnaise with Greek yogurt in the crema for a lighter version.
