Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ¾ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
4 medium apples, thinly sliced
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13-inch pan with parchment or non-stick spray.
Mix flour, 1 ¼ cups oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter into a crumbly dough.
Press two-thirds of the mixture into the pan to form a crust.
Toss apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and cornstarch; cook until soft and thickened.
Spread apples evenly over crust layer.
Mix remaining oat mixture with ½ cup oats and crumble on top.
Bake for 40–45 minutes until top is golden and filling bubbles.
Cool for 30 minutes, then chill before slicing into bars.
Notes
Use almond flour for gluten-free version.
Oats give layers extra texture and depth.
Chill before slicing for cleaner bars.
