  • Total Time: 70 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A cozy, plant-based dessert combining tart apples, warming spices, and a golden oat-butter topping. Perfect for fall or holiday baking.

Ingredients

Scale

6 medium Granny Smith apples

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

2 tbsp lemon juice

3/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup plant-based butter

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Peel, core, and slice apples. Toss with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread into greased 9-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbly.

Spoon topping over apples without pressing flat.

Bake for 40 minutes until golden brown and apples bubble.

Cool 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for complex flavor.

Freeze unbaked for up to 2 months and bake from frozen when needed.
