Description

6 cups tart apples (like Granny Smith), peeled and sliced

⅓ cup white sugar

½ cup brown sugar

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons flour (to thicken)

Crumble:

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Pinch of salt

½ cup unsalted butter, melted


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch pie dish.

2. In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour. Spread the apple mixture evenly in your pie dish.

3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in melted butter until the mixture forms clumpy crumbles.

4. Spread the crumble evenly over the apples. Lightly pack it down with your palm to help it brown evenly.

5. Bake for 40 minutes until the top is golden and juices are bubbling along the sides.

6. Cool for 10–15 minutes before serving to let the filling set.

Notes

Add chopped pecans or rolled oats to the crumble for extra texture.

Use browned butter for a richer topping flavor.
