Description
Baked gnocchi is a cheesy, comforting one-dish meal that combines crispy edges with a creamy, tomato-infused center—perfect for cozy dinners and crowd-pleasing cravings.
Ingredients
1 lb store-bought potato gnocchi
1.5 cups marinara sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt & black pepper to taste
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Optional add-ins: cooked Italian sausage, kale, mushroom slices, wilted spinach
Cheese swaps: smoked provolone, fontina, ricotta, Gruyère
Flavor boost: drizzle of sage butter
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly oil a baking dish.
2. Warm olive oil in a pan and sauté garlic for 1 minute.
3. Add marinara and red pepper flakes, then stir in heavy cream. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
4. Add uncooked gnocchi and stir to coat.
5. Transfer to baking dish and top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
7. Remove foil and broil for 5–7 minutes until golden and bubbly.
8. Let rest 2–3 minutes before serving.
9. Optional: serve with crisp garlic bread.
Notes
Use Greek yogurt or coconut cream for a lighter version.
Add roasted veggies like squash or kale for more nutrients.
Gnocchi can be baked straight from the package—no boiling needed.
