Ingredients

Scale

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp sea salt

1 tsp vanilla extract (non-alcoholic)

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

Optional: 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease or line an 8×8 baking pan.

Mash bananas in a bowl, then add oil, vanilla, and brown sugar. Mix well.

Stir in cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt until fully combined.

Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts.

Spread batter evenly in pan and smooth top.

Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cool at least 20 minutes before slicing for best structure.
