Description
Brucha Matcha is a trendy, effervescent blend of matcha and kombucha. It fuses the calm energy of matcha with the probiotic power and fizzy brightness of kombucha in one refreshing drink. Colorful, antioxidant-rich, and easy to make in minutes!
Ingredients
1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder
2 oz hot (not boiling) water (about 175°F)
6 oz plain kombucha (or flavored like lemon or ginger)
Ice (optional)
Lemon wedge, mint sprig, or edible flower for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Sift your matcha powder into a small bowl to eliminate clumps.
2. Add the hot water and whisk vigorously in an “M” or zigzag motion until foamy. Use a bamboo whisk (chasen) or milk frother.
3. Fill a glass with ice if using, and pour in the kombucha.
4. Gently pour the whisked matcha over the kombucha. Allow it to layer for visual effect or stir for a uniform drink.
5. Garnish with a lemon wedge, mint sprig, or edible flower if desired.
Notes
Avoid using boiling water to whisk matcha, as it can alter the flavor.
Plain kombucha gives the best blend, but flavored types work too—just avoid overly sweet varieties.
For beginners, brucha matcha can be made milder by using half kombucha and half sparkling water.
Experiment with citrus herbs, ginger slices, or berry kombucha for creative twists.
Best served immediately to retain fizz.
