Description
There’s something unapologetically comforting about a warm caramel apple crisp — crisp topping, tender apples, and velvety caramel in every spoonful. It’s nostalgic, bold, and perfect for cozy fall days.
Ingredients
6 cups apples, peeled and sliced
2 tbsp lemon juice
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ cup caramel sauce
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup cold butter, diced
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×9 baking dish.
2. Toss apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Spread into dish and drizzle with half the caramel.
3. In a bowl, combine flour, oats, and brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples, then drizzle remaining caramel across the top.
5. Bake uncovered 45–50 minutes, or until apples are bubbling and the top is golden.
6. Let cool slightly before serving to allow the caramel to thicken.
Notes
Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for best texture.
Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
Top with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or mascarpone.
Store in the fridge up to 4 days; reheat in oven for best crispness.
Freeze unbaked for up to 2 months.
