Description
There’s something magical about the way caramel hugs a crisp apple slice—gooey, buttery, sweet with just enough salt to keep things interesting. This homemade caramel apple dip is quick, nostalgic, and crowd-pleasing.
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla bean
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
2. Add the brown sugar and stir until it completely dissolves—about 2-3 minutes.
3. Pour in the cream slowly while stirring. Let the mixture bubble gently for 4–5 minutes.
4. Stir frequently until thickened and creamy (it should coat the back of a spoon).
5. Remove from heat, then stir in vanilla and salt.
6. Let it cool slightly until warm but dippable.
Notes
Use a small slow cooker to keep warm during serving.
Stir in 1 extra tablespoon of cream if needed to keep the dip soft.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge.
Reheat in 15-second microwave bursts, stirring in between.
