Homemade Cherry Tart

  • Total Time: 70 minutes
  • Yield: 68 servings 1x

Description

A classic cherry tart with a buttery crust, tart cherry filling, and a soft kiss of powdered sugar—perfect for any season.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 premade tart crust

Powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a saucepan, combine cherries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Cook on medium heat until thick (8–10 minutes).

Let the filling cool slightly.

Line tart shell with crust and pour in the filling.

Bake for 30–35 minutes, until crust is golden and filling is bubbling.

Cool for 20 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use tart cherries for maximum flavor.

Frozen cherries work well but must be thawed and drained.

Add almond extract or herbs for variations.
