Chocolate Donuts

Description

These baked chocolate donuts are rich, moist, and super easy to make. Perfect for a sweet breakfast or snack.


Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp espresso powder (optional)

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup milk (plant-based or dairy)

1 large egg

2 tbsp melted coconut oil or butter

1 tsp non-alcohol vanilla extract


Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan.

In a large bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, and espresso powder.

In another bowl, beat egg, milk, vanilla, and sugar, then stir in melted butter.

Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.

Fill donut cavities 3/4 full using a piping bag or spoon.

Bake for 14–16 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Add glaze or toppings if desired after fully cooling.

Notes

Store in airtight container with slice of bread to retain moisture.

Freeze unglazed and reheat gently when needed.
