Description

A warm, gooey cinnamon roll casserole made completely from scratch—fluffy rolls soaked in a creamy custard and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for brunches, holidays, and cozy mornings.


Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast

¾ cup warm milk

¼ cup sugar

1 egg

4 tbsp butter, melted (plus more for greasing)

1 tbsp cinnamon

⅓ cup brown sugar

1 cup heavy cream

Cream cheese glaze (optional: cream cheese, milk, vanilla & sugar)


Instructions

1. Warm milk to 110°F and stir in yeast and a teaspoon of sugar. Let bloom for 5–10 mins.

2. Combine flour, remaining sugar, pinch of salt. Add yeast mix, melted butter, and egg. Mix to a soft dough.

3. Knead on floured surface for 5–6 minutes until springy. Cover and rest 30 mins.

4. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

5. Roll dough into rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

6. Roll up tightly, slice into 1-inch rounds.

7. Grease a casserole dish and layer rolls with gaps in between.

8. Whisk heavy cream and pour evenly over rolls.

9. Bake at 350°F for 30–35 mins until golden.

10. Drizzle with cream cheese glaze before serving (optional).

Notes

Prepare the night before for an easy morning bake—just refrigerate overnight and bake as usual.

Add chopped apples, toasted nuts, or orange zest for extra flavor.

Leftovers reheat well in oven or microwave with a splash of milk.

Can be frozen—wrap tightly and thaw before reheating.
