Classic Easy Brownie Recipe

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 9 squares 1x

Description

A simple, one-bowl brownie recipe using cocoa and oil. It’s rich, fudgy, and quick to make with everyday ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup neutral oil (canola or vegetable)

1 cup white sugar

2 large eggs or substitute (e.g. 1/2 cup applesauce)

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract (alcohol-free)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease an 8×8 pan.

In a large bowl, whisk oil, sugar, and vanilla until combined.

Add eggs (or substitute) and beat until smooth.

Sift in cocoa, flour, and salt. Stir just until combined.

Pour into prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 25–30 minutes until center is barely set.

Cool before slicing for best texture.

Notes

Don’t overmix; gentle stirring ensures fudgy texture.

Add chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor.
