A bold and hearty chili perfect for football Sundays or casual entertaining. Made with ground beef or turkey, beans, and a blend of spices, it’s a crowd-pleaser with endless topping options.
Ingredients
2 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 large yellow onion, diced
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes with juice
3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 (15 oz) cans kidney beans, drained
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat oil in a Dutch oven and sauté onions until translucent.
Add garlic, then brown the ground meat completely.
Stir in tomato paste and spices. Mix well to coat.
Add tomatoes, beans, and ½ cup water. Stir and bring to a simmer.
Cover and cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Uncover for the last 10 minutes to thicken. Season and serve with toppings.
Notes
Use a slow cooker for make-ahead convenience.
Great served with cornbread waffles or over baked potato.
