Description
This garlic butter steak lightning noodles recipe is the ultimate weeknight meal—quick, rich, and layered with umami.
Ingredients
8 oz steak (ribeye or NY strip), thinly sliced
2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon umami sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon neutral oil (vegetable, canola, etc.)
1 scallion, chopped (for garnish)
1 teaspoon chili crisp or hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
Boil the noodles: Cook noodles as directed. Reserve ¼ cup water, then drain.
Sear the steak: Heat oil in a skillet. Sear steak slices for 1–2 mins per side. Remove and rest.
Make garlic butter sauce: Lower heat. Melt butter, sauté garlic till golden. Stir in soy sauce, umami sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
Combine: Add noodles and noodle water. Toss to coat. Return steak to pan.
Serve: Garnish with scallions and chili crisp. Serve hot.
Notes
Ribeye gives the richest flavor, but sirloin or flank work great too.
Swap in rice noodles or soba if gluten-free.
Stir in veggies like spinach or bell peppers for extra balance.
Don’t brown the garlic too much—golden is perfect.
