Description
These honey butter biscuits blend Southern tradition with a modern twist—flaky, golden, and glazed with sweet buttered honey. Perfect for brunch, dinners, or viral-worthy meals.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp fine sea salt
6 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cubed
¾ cup cold buttermilk
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp melted butter (for glaze)
1 tsp additional honey (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add cold butter and cut into flour until crumbly.
4. Stir in buttermilk and honey until just combined.
5. Turn dough onto floured surface, fold gently 4–6 times, and pat into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
6. Cut biscuits with a 2.5-inch cutter; press down without twisting.
7. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake 20–25 minutes until golden.
8. Mix melted butter with honey and brush over hot biscuits.
Notes
Brush biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven for caramelized edges.
Try flavoring the honey butter with cinnamon, sage, or a pinch of cayenne for a unique twist.
Serve with fried chicken, jam, or as a base for breakfast sliders.
