Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1/4 cup neutral oil
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp plain yogurt
1 tbsp orange zest
3 tbsp orange juice
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Optional: 1/4 tsp turmeric
For glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar + 1 tbsp orange juice
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheet.
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add oil, egg, zest, juice, and yogurt; mix well.
In separate bowl, whisk dry ingredients.
Combine wet and dry gently.
Chill dough 15 minutes (optional).
Spoon dough onto baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes.
Cool fully before glazing with orange glaze.
Notes
Use fresh zest—avoid bitter white pith.
For freeze-ahead, skip icing until after thawing.
