A nostalgic citrusy dessert inspired by the classic orange creamsicle, perfect for potlucks, parties, or Sunday dinners. Bright, zesty, creamy, and easy to make from scratch.

Ingredients

Scale

1 box white or vanilla cake mix

1 cup orange soda (or orange juice)

3 eggs

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 box orange gelatin mix (3 oz)

1 tsp vanilla bean

1 tub whipped topping (8 oz)

1 cup vanilla pudding or cream cheese (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13″ baking dish.

2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, orange gelatin, eggs, oil, and orange soda. Mix until smooth.

3. Pour batter into the baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

4. Let the cake cool completely.

5. In a medium bowl, mix whipped topping with cream cheese or pudding until creamy.

6. Frost the cooled cake evenly.

7. Optional: Garnish with orange zest or slices.

8. Chill before serving or serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute oil with Greek yogurt.

Enhance with a swirl of raspberry coulis or top with coconut whipped cream.

Can be made ahead and frozen (unfrosted) up to 3 months.
