Easy Homemade Spicy Salsa

Description

A vibrant and fiery homemade spicy salsa packed with bold chili flavor, perfect for dipping or drizzling on your favorite meals.


Ingredients

Scale

5 Roma tomatoes

1 white onion, chopped

3 garlic cloves

2 jalapeño peppers

2 serrano chilies

1 tablespoon olive oil

Juice of 1 lime

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon cumin

1 handful fresh cilantro

1 optional chipotle in adobo sauce


Instructions

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic, onion, jalapeños, and serrano chilies. Cook for 3–4 minutes.

Add tomatoes and sauté until blistered (about 3 minutes).

Transfer all ingredients to a blender, add lime juice, salt, cumin, and cilantro.

Optionally add chipotle pepper. Blend until desired texture is reached.

Chill before serving or serve warm. Store in airtight container.

Notes

For less heat, use only one pepper and remove seeds.

Store refrigerated for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
