  • Author: Ray
  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, nostalgic dish that balances sweet and savory flavors, perfect for holidays or a cozy Sunday meal. Customizable with spicy or crunchy twists.

Ingredients

Scale

4 large sweet potatoes

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup whole milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a medium casserole dish.

2. Peel and dice sweet potatoes. Roast at 400°F or boil until tender.

3. Mash potatoes with brown sugar, milk, butter, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon.

4. Spread mixture evenly into casserole dish.

5. Top with mini marshmallows.

6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.

7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Roasting sweet potatoes intensifies natural flavor and retains more nutrients.

Substitute marshmallows with granola, pecans, or even a savory streusel.

Prepare mashed base up to 3 days in advance. Add topping and bake when ready.

Store leftovers for 3–4 days in fridge; reheat as needed.
